Editor's Review & How To Play

"Hearthstone" is a trading card game released by Blizzard Entertainment. It was announced by Blizzard employee Rob Pardo at PAX 2013 in March 2013. The game entered Beta testing in the summer of 2013. It entered the public beta on January 24, 2014. On March 13, 2014, three servers in Europe, Asia, and the United States were officially put into operation, and the Chinese server was also officially put into operation on March 15.

The game is a free game. The story background is based on the world view of the Warcraft series. Players can purchase card packs separately. The game will first be sold on PC and Apple computer platforms, and iOS and Android phone and tablet versions have been launched, and may be extended to other platforms after release. When the game is released, it contains 300 cards, and additional card packs can be obtained in-game or purchased at a price of $1 per pack. However, in the national service of NetEase agent, due to the restrictions of local laws and regulations in China, the recharge mechanism was changed to the form of purchasing Arcane Dust to send card packs. Each card pack contains five random cards corresponding to the expansion pack, including at least one "rare card" (rare/blue quality). Players can choose nine professions "heroes" as the protagonist, similar to the professions in World of Warcraft. The game is played through Blizzard’s Battle.net. The game mode is based on the traditional 1v1 method, and players cannot trade cards.

Every "Heartstone Legend" is 1vs1 in turn. Under normal circumstances, the player will draw a card in his turn, and according to the card in his hand, he decides to summon followers, equip weapons, or cast spells to challenge. A game may have two players, or one player and one computer, or two players and one computer.

Every player will choose a hero to represent them in a game, and these heroes are important roles in World of Warcraft. Different heroes will represent different professions. At the same time, these professions will have special decks and unique hero abilities dedicated to that profession. The hero in each game has 30 health points; once the player's hero health reaches zero or becomes negative, or the player chooses to surrender, it means that the player has lost the game. Currently, Hearthstone has ten occupations in total.

At the beginning of each round, players will draw a card from their deck, and these decks must be constructed before starting the game and have exactly thirty cards. Players can choose to use the default library or custom library to play the game. When the player has a large number of special cards of the profession, he will be able to realize the unique charm and possibility of each profession in the game.

When it's the player's turn, the player will be able to choose to play cards, use hero skills, command followers to attack, or when his hero has offensive power, he can also let the hero attack by himself; of course, he can also do anything. End the round if you don't do it. However, if you want to play a card or use hero abilities, you must spend a certain amount of mana crystal equal to the number in the upper left corner of the card. At the beginning of the game, both players will have a mana crystal, and then increase one round by round until they have ten. Usually cards that consume more mana crystals will also have more powerful power, such as stronger followers or higher damage spell cards.

When one of the players loses (sometimes there will be a tie), it means that the game is over. The end of a game will allow both parties to gain experience points (the winner will get more), and they will get some basic cards (basic gold cards after the level exceeds 10) as rewards when they reach certain levels.
