Three French friends, Allan Durand (director/developer), Romain Delambily (graphic designer), and Paul Malburet (musician and composer) wanted to blend their skills to create an interactive experience about music. So the team worked on the idea for months. They started from scratch using computer programs to complete the required projects, such as graphic design, music, game design, code, animation, etc. After countless days and nights of hard work, they finally completed the Incredibox game and released it online on August 16. The Flash game is divided into five categories: instruments, percussion, effects, sounds and chorus. Animation bonuses are automatically displayed as the player keeps dragging and dropping symbols onto the character. Over the next year, the Flash games attracted many visitors from all over the world, and they were indeed well received and received good feedback from users.
In July 2011, the team decided to set up the French company So Far So Good, which specializes in graphic design and multimedia, to continue developing their ideas and "try to turn Incredibox into a professional project" in a video interview. They decided to spend half of their time on creative projects for clients and half on Incredibox. the team built the Incredibox webpage and started working on a new version of Incredibox, which became more revolutionary and revolutionized the game's design and mechanics. They released the second version of Incredibox (Little Miss) in March 2012, the third version (Sunrise in October 2013 and the fourth (Love) in November 2014. Each version integrated new sounds, new character designs and new features (such as recording mode) that allowed users to share their mixes by URL or by adding colors on characters and unique attachments that could better identify each sound.
Incredibox is a music video game, music production application.
The concept of the game is that users drag and drop sound icons onto different characters to make music. Players can find combos to unlock animation bonuses and record remixes to rank for points.
The game's auto mode can also be used to generate endless randomness. It allows you to become a beatbox hip-hop master with a few simple steps.
Simply drag the different colored decorations onto the characters to mix your own rhythmic variety of music! Find the right combination of rhythms to unlock different animation bonuses to help you improve your mixing skills.
Switch between 8 versions at will, personalize your production and create your own rhythmic hip-hop, pop, electro or Brazilian sound.
Record and share your creations with players all over the world! If you get enough votes, your remixes will appear in the Incredibox Top 50 charts.
Lack of inspiration is not a problem, you can choose the automatic mode to help you create music .
If you like music, come on! The next Bbox master is you!
How To Play
A mix can be created in it by managing a combination of seven animated metronomes.
There are eight different Incredibox versions of the game, each with its own uniquely themed musical style.
Once one of the eight versions (or musical styles) available has been selected, the player is provided with an interface consisting of seven blank characters and twenty sound icons. These icons are divided into the following categories (five per category): Beats, Effects, Melodies and Sounds.
Each icon is a unique a capella sound loop that can be dragged and dropped from a series of hats, sunglasses, masks, headphones or other items that wear them while in use and allow them to sing rhythmically to each other (representing all versions of the music composer) to find the character.
To fine-tune the mix, the player can also swap new sounds, mute the sounds, solo one of them, find combos to unlock animation bonuses, and record all these interactions to share on social media via URLs. Contributors can then listen and vote for their favorite tracks up to Incredibox's top 50 charts. For users who just want to listen to the endless mixes, the automatic mode plays a random loop of each version.
